Nigerian Traditional Chiefs
“Chief” traditionally is a title with various meanings. It can denote a prince or an individual that has been appointed to a traditional position of authority. The title today is mostly used in connection with individuals that have been appointed to a position of wealth and power. The title is primarily taken by men, but is also used by women ‘Chief Mrs’ etc.
